About the role

We run several data platforms at once with a small senior team and very little process. Your job is to keep the work moving: turn broad goals into scoped projects, keep people unblocked, and make sure things actually ship. As an early project manager you will own real projects end to end, and the process you build is the process we will use.

We acquire and operate data platforms that turn the world's public information into clean, structured, real-time data for people and machines, across news, places, government, and markets. Most of it is written for human eyes, scattered across millions of sources, and out of date the moment it ships. Our job is to make each part of that record complete, current, and ready to query. We are a small, senior team, and the work is measured by one thing: whether the data is right, current, and easy to use.

What you'll do

• Turn broad goals into scoped projects with clear owners and dates
• Track work across engineering, design, and go-to-market, and keep it moving
• Find blockers early and clear them before they cost a week
• Run the few meetings that earn their time, and cancel the ones that do not
• Write the updates, docs, and notes that keep a small team aligned
• Build just enough process for a team this size, and no more

What we look for

• Organized and calm, able to hold many threads without dropping them
• A clear writer who can make a plan legible in a paragraph
• Comfortable asking direct questions and chasing loose ends
• Evidence you have run something real beats a resume

Bonus points

• Ran a team, club, event, or side project where you owned the outcome
• Technical enough to follow engineering discussions and ask good questions
• Some exposure to data products, developer tools, or startups

Compensation

Depending on experience, the expected pay range in California is $140K–$170K.
