Engineering Intern
- Location
- San Francisco, CA or Remote (US)
- Type
- Internship
- Term
- Summer, Fall 2026
- Compensation
- $50–$65/hr
About the role
You will spend the term on real ingestion, resolution, or product work, with review and support, and ship something that ends up in the product. No busywork, no throwaway projects. You will see how a small, senior team turns messy public information into structured data at scale, and your work will be part of it.
About NimbleFig
NimbleFig is a data company. We acquire and operate data platforms that turn the world's public information into clean, structured, real-time data for people and machines, across news, places, government, and markets. Most of it is written for human eyes, scattered across millions of sources, and out of date the moment it ships. Our job is to make each part of that record complete, current, and ready to query. We are a small, senior team, and the work is measured by one thing: whether the data is right, current, and easy to use.
What you'll do
- Take a real ingestion, resolution, or product task from start to ship
- Write code that goes into production, with review and support from the team
- Debug real data-quality problems and measure whether your fix worked
- Ask good questions and leave the code better than you found it
What we look for
- Studying CS or equivalent, or self-taught with proof
- Comfortable in at least one language and eager on hard problems
- Curious, careful, and able to work independently
- A link to something you have built beats a resume
Bonus points
- Side projects, open-source contributions, or a portfolio of things you shipped
- Some exposure to data pipelines, backends, or web scraping
Compensation
Depending on experience, the expected pay range in California is $50–$65/hr.
What we offer
- Competitive pay, in the range listed above
- Remote across the US, or in person in San Francisco
- Real ownership: you will ship work that customers depend on
- A small, senior team with high standards and little process
How we hire
We read every application. If there is a fit, expect a short intro call, a practical exercise rooted in the kind of work you would actually do, and a few conversations with the people you would work with. A link to something you have built beats a resume.
